In its current state, The Legend of Zelda franchise will not ever be, and is not currently respected by the average hardcore gamer. It is my intention to state what elements of the game that needs changed to bring the series up to par and make it more worthy of respect. While stating all of this however, I will not deny the success the series has had thus far, nor will the fan be belittled. With all disclaimers out of the way, here is why the Zelda franchise just can not be respected.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask’s text dumps were just added. The game being the long adventure that it was, took several pages to include every word. They can be read under the text dump link on the side navigation.

This board game was released by Milton Bradley when they were in the business of making licensed games. The goal of this zelda game was to explore Hyrule. This game can now be found on Ebay, usually for about 50 dollars and up.
So with the success of Mario in this arena, and the lack of concern from the average Zelda fan boy, perhaps Nintendo should push the limit with the LoZ series and send Link on a celestial adventure into outer space. I mean, we have trains in Spirit Tracks, phones in Link’s Awakening, magical masks and every other farfetched thing imaginable, the real question is, why has not Nintendo already done this?
Ganon’s Tower of A Link to the Past was one challenging and remarkable conclusion to the dungeons of the game. This massive tower took Link to the end of the game and would lead to the final boss fight. For more information on Ganon’s Tower, check out the Zelda Wiki page.
