Apparently they're going to have something similar to PSN. This seems to imply we will be using real accounts instead of friend codes now. I sure hope so.

Thoughts on this? I think it's a huge step in the right direction for Nintendo's online.

Yeah, definitely sounds like Nintendo is stepping up with their online with this idea. I didn't mind Friend Codes though.

Sounds like a pretty good idea, now next we'll see an "achievement/trophy" system going on for Nintendo games (maybe "Plaques", lol).

The 3DS is already doing this in the form of "Accomplishments" with its Mii system.

There's also speak that Mario Kart 7 has been using this for a while now...not to mention it being the first Nintendo game to receive DLC. How well it'll be implemented has yet to be seen. Perhaps E3 will have further explanation of this Nintendo Network.
