When Iwata showed this image, he said, "Although there is no logo here, we are planning to release a totally new 2D side-scrolling action Super Mario as a key title for the Nintendo 3DS in the next fiscal year."

Iwata did not explain any further about this previously unannounced, "totally new" Super Mario title, but he did point out that it was a "2D side-scrolling". Expect more details at a later date.

Sounds good to me. Side-scrolling Mario on the 3DS? Why not?

Seeing as how successful New Super Mario Bros was on the original DS, this is no surprise.

Go ahead and book me a copy. The last several mario games totally turned my opinion around on the series
