Nintendo Announces 3-D Handheld

With 3-d televisions being all the latest talk after the theatrical success of recent 3-d films such as Avatar and Alice, game developers have all started spreading the word of future 3-d games. Sony had announced they will too make games in the near future that will play in 3-d.

Nintendo while initially skeptical, saying “‘I have doubts whether people will be wearing glasses to play games at home. How is that going to look to other people?”, have just announced plans to release a new handheld as early as June this year, to include 3-d features. The temporary name has been deemed the 3DS.

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises is the lack of glasses needed, leaving many to question how Nintendo plans to do this. One idea floating around is that it will utilize the DSI’s two cameras to track movement of the player and adjust the image on screen, making it appear in 3-d.

Looking for thoughts and comments regarding your ideas on how this would effect the Legend of Zelda franchise.

I wish they'd slow down on releasing new technologies. I can't take so many DS systems at once. DSiXL, the DS with a small gap between screens, whatever that is, this 3D thing… Nintendo, you started singing and you're dancing off without me!

I…. I just needed to quote Nostalgia Chick .__.
