Skyward Sword has been out for several months now but its epic gameplay and story continues to be felt by many. However, if you were one of the few Wii owners who have not picked up the game then you now have no reason not to pick the game up.

KMART has dropped the price down to 20 dollars. At this cost Skyward Sword is nothing but a steal. This deal is only good through May 6th to the 12th so you better act fast.

Perhaps the most interesting and relevant piece is of course what he had to say about Skyward Sword. The interviewer from Entertainment Weekly complimented Miyamoto on Skyward Sword’s usage of the Wii Motion Plus controls and asked about the development process of the game.

Miyamoto then stated that the version he played during development was actually harder than the one that was released to the public. He mentioned the idea that developers generally have more gaming skills than your average gamer so they make bosses and puzzles harder so it feels like a challenge. However, they then have to tone things down for most players.

Nintendo is doing a lot to make up for their mistakes lately. This time around they are sending out a brand new replacement poster because there was a minor mistake in their Club Nintendo Skyward Sword poster. If you have not noticed, there was a slight error near one the Loft wings. Some people noticed this and complained, promoting Nintendo to issue an apology and a correct version of the poster during the first week of February.

Skyward Sword has been out for almost 2 months now and the game is readily available at most major retailers. However what is not widely available is the Skyward Sword Demo Disk. If you have the game then obviously the demo is worthless. However, a hardcore Zelda collector may find this to be a must have.

The demo disk can be found on eBay now and though we cannot offer a walkthrough for the demo, we do have a growing Skyward Sword Walkthrough that you may find helpful.

It seems that Nintendo may have finally hit a patch of good luck. After a severely disappointing fiscal year in 2011 there is finally some good sales numbers for the Big N. The 3DS handheld system has sold more than 4 million units which has been fueled largely in part from Super Mario Land 3D and Mario Kart 7, both of which have hit 1 million units sold in the United States.

Of course, the figure that we care about the most is the sales numbers for Skyward Sword. As previously reported, Skyward Sword was the fastest selling Zelda game of all time and to sweeten the deal the game has sold more than 1 million copies now.

If you were a fan of Skyward Sword’s Art style and would like to see more of it in future games than you are out of luck. Unlike The Wind Waker which saw several renditions of its toon-like graphics, Skyward Sword is a one hit wonder.

In a recent interview with Zelda developer, Aonuma, he discussed the reasoning behind this decision. “With Wind Waker, the graphics were suited to handheld gaming. Also the game ended with Link embarking on a journey, so it left open the possibility of what comes after the game. With Skyward Sword, positioning it as the first Zelda game means everything else connects to it and comes after it. It becomes a little bit difficult to do something else within that world and certainly much more difficult to do something that comes before it.”

Making this even more shocking is the fact that less developed and less hyped entries to the series such as Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks greatly outsold Link’s latest outing. After an initial surge in Japan, Skyward Sword failed to reach the top 20 chart just 2 weeks into its release, despite being in the middle of the holiday shopping season.

To highlight this stunning sales slump we can look at Spirit Tracks which sold 500,000 copies in 5 weeks and Phantom Hourglass which sold 631,100 copies in the same amount of time. Maybe Japanese gamers just prefer the handheld entries to the Zelda series?
