The shield is often seen as a pointless and trivial items in the Legend of Zelda series. This is especially true for the 2D games in which the shield must actually be equipped in one of the two item slots. So this zelda web comic is made to point out how vital the shield actually is for Link’s survival. So remember! The next time you are face to face with an ocotorok, equip your shield. Do it for Link.
