Skyward Sword Haunted Restroom
The Skyward Sword Haunted Restroom is a side-quest in Skyward Sword where Link must deliver a series of love letters to characters in Skyloft. The quest is fairly short but can be confusing if you do not know where to go. This guide will walk you through completion of the quest.
Skyward Sword Haunted Restroom
To begin this quest you will need to talk to Cawlin who can be found inside of the Skyloft Academy hallway. You will be given a love letter that needs to be delivered to Karane.
This part has 2 options. You can either give it to Karane or you can give it to the ghost haunting the restroom at night. Either way, you get rewarded with 5 Gratitude Crystals.
If you choose to give the Love Letter to the Ghost then you need to wait until night and enter the bathroom to find the ghost. After doing so return to Grooses’ room and you will see the ghost haunting Cawlin. You will be rewarded with 5 crystals. This is personally my favorite option.
However you can skip this and give the letter to Karane. If you choose to take this route then head down the first floor hall and you can find Karane in a classroom. Talk with her and she will be muttering about Pipit. Inform her about the letter and then let her finish talking. You will now need to locate Pipit and tell him about Karane’s love letter. Pipit can be found walking on the second floor.
After talking to him, return t Karane and a love triangle situation unfolds. Cawlin will be broken hearted and run away while Pipit will thank you and give you 5 Gratitude Crystals.

You have to have 1 of the sacred flames i think. May not be that part exactly but it was around that.

you must wait until after you've been given the harp, beat the abomination in the sealed ground for the first time, and have returned to skyloft to learn the lyrics to the Goddess' Song.
it triggered for me upon entry to the bazaar, where one of the patrons at the soup resturaunt mentions a woman moaning in the dorms at night.

I gave the ghost the letter, but for some reason it doesn't appear in Groose's room at night after that. Any suggestions?

I did the quest before I had a flame. Heck, I did it before I had the harp. During the day, you need to talk to the old lady in the kitchen to start the quest. I think this quest becomes enabled after the third temple.
talk to the old lady in the kitchen, go to links room sleep till night, pick up grat stone there, walk over to the bathroom on the first floor, after the moan for paper go back to links room, wake up at morning, go talk to calwin down the hall,get the letter.
No you don't have to have a sacred flame at all, just talk to the fat guy in the bazaar.

You have to beat the monster after getting the harp then you can do the quest after talking to the old lady
I was having trouble but I just completed this. I did not have the first flame nor the harp. Walk into the kitchen during the day and the old the old woman will have a bubble over her head talk to her. Then go sleep in your room until night. Then go the the RESTROOM by the kitchen to here the ghost. Then sleep in your bed until morning. Walk down the hallway and calwin with have a bubble over his head. Talk to him and complete the Qwest by giving the paper to the ghost or the girl.
Yes, talk to the old lady in the kitchen at night to start the quest. You have to talk to Calwin during the day and he'll give you letter for Karane. Go to sleep til night and give the letter to the ghost hand. Then go back to sleep till day and talk to Calwin, he'll get upset and run to Groose's room, follow him and talk to him again. Then go BACK to sleep till night and go to Groose's room and TA-DA! :)
